Anna Naud

Anna NaudAnna C. Naud joined Mason Bennett Johncox Professional Corporation in Brooklin, Ontario as a corporate/commercial lawyer in September 2013. Called to the Ontario Bar in 2005, Anna spent nine years practicing at a large national firm on Bay Street in Toronto. Anna advises clients in both the for- profit and not-for-profit sectors on day-to-day corporate and commercial matters. Anna has advised clients of various sizes (ranging from large publicly-traded corporations to independent contractors) and in various industries (e.g. health sector, higher education sector, private education sector, Montessori and daycare sectors, and the renewable energy sector) on all corporate/commercial matters. Anna has additional expertise in both not-for-profit and charity law, and corporate governance. Anna has worked with both national and provincial non-share capital corporations and registered Canadian charities, including colleges, hospitals, public and private foundations, religious organizations, Montessori schools, day cares, private schools, social clubs, associations, co-operative corporations and special act corporations. Anna is active in the community. She sits on the Board of Directors of YWCA Durham and Habitat for Humanity Durham (and is the Board Secretary and member of the Governance Committee), and volunteers with other local organizations. Anna has been on the Executive Committee of the Charity & Not-for-Profit Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association since 2012. In addition to being an Instructor for the Continuous Learning Not-for-Profit Management Certificate Program since 2013, Anna is a frequent guest speaker on a variety of issues affecting for-profit businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and registered Canadian charities at events and courses organized by institutions such as Durham College, Seneca College, the International Policy Governance Association, and the Chambers of Commerce/Boards of Trade throughout Durham Region. Anna is the co-author (with Catherine Raso of CMR Governance Consulting) of the Board Administration Handbook (2014) for boards of directors.
